Sunset Ride, 12 x 12 inches, oil on linen sold
This is a re-work of a painting I did last year. It's lighter overall, and has a lot more surface play. Consequently, it's looser and more abstract, in keeping with my current direction.
Now I'm thinking, I want to see this much bigger. hmmm...
So it's official. My fall solo show Return to the City opens Saturday, October 3rd at Thomas Reynolds Gallery in San Francisco. I am going to show many of the paintings I've posted here in the past months, plus many more that I haven't. 'Hope you all can make it to the opening!

Thanks rutger!!
Excellent paintings I'm happy to have found your blog.
Terry- I love this piece & I remember the first one too. Great idea to go large! Good to hear you have the show date scheduled. It will be a "must see" for me.

Shoot, I'll be at SLO Oct 3rd. You're near my neighborhood (I'm Buena Vista Hieghts). I'll definitely stop by, but that gallery has the strangest hours, or at least they used to be mostly open 'by appointment'. Maybe things have changed.
Good luck! It's a great gallery.
I really liked the first one and ditto for this! I'm now on the hotspot as well. Need to get about 20 paintings completed by Feb. next yr. for a two man show.
Best wishes gor your show Terry. I hope you will share the pictures of your exhibition on your blog. Thats the only way I can get a glimpse of the show sitting here in India. I am sure its going to be a wonderful show with many many sales and future commissions too.

Thanks a bunch, everybody! Great to have your votes of enthusiasm!!
Randy, come to the opening and bring all your students with you :-)
Sally, I've got a 30 x 40 canvas all stretched and ready to go. I may or may not be able to finish it for the show, but I'll definitely do the painting.
Thanks Ed, I didn't realize it would conflict with SLO! Dang that means a bunch of my friends can't make it to the opening. Ah well, the show will be up for a month, so thanks in advance for dropping in to check out the paintings! and good luck to you in SLO! your knife paintings will kick ass, I know it.
Hey David, better get a move on!~ who's the other half of your two man show??
Thanks Vinayak! I will make sure to get some pics of the opening and post them!
hi Terry,
At first glance something about the colours and shapes in this painting brought to my minds eye thoughts of ice-cream!?!.. funny how shapes and colours can suggest something entirely different from what's going on...i really love the piece. should be a fantastic show.
The artist I'm sharing a show with is Vic Vicini. The Coed Hotel is wonderfully evocative and well executed.
