Simplify! - Got One More!

Here's another one. This one is from Kathryn in San Diego~ 













I don't usually do "challenges," but this one fit in well with lessons I'm teaching at the moment.  You can read about the concepthere and see more specifics (including the source photo) here.   Terry's "rules" in that first post are much like my own:  editing, seeing the big shapes, simplifying the value plan, consolidating similar values.  To his excellent suggestions, I'd add one more:  if you really want to simplify, give yourself a time limit which will push you to make the big statements and not get caught up in details.   You're making a painting, not an inventory.  I gave myself 90 minutes for this simplified 12" X 12" painting, based on Terry's photo.
